- separate airconditioning units, in each of the bedrooms and in the main
area, that REALLY work! Ten minutes after you turn the air on, the house
is as cool as you could want
- local telephone service (ie. within Costa Rica) is free
- at this time, medium speed (ie. ISDN) Internet is available in the
house. It is not up to ADSL/cable standards, but, for example, Skype works
well. You need to have your laptop with you or talk to me about this
before you go.
- the doors and cabinets are all solid cedar. In Costa Rica, that's a
hard wood, unlike in North America.
The sunroom ceiling is a mixture of
teak and almond.
- full kitchen facilities - fridge, stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, dishes
- propane BBQ outside for those absolutely HAVE to cook at home instead of
going to a restaurant and letting someone else do the work
- full laundry facilities - an honest-to-god dryer, even (a bit of a rarity
here)!
- maid service mid-week (or more often, if you pre-arrange it. The
additional cost is quite small)
- all the floors are ceramic
- the main bath has a walk-in shower that is big enough for a party.
The second bathroom's shower is pretty darn' nice too!
- the built-in dining table/bar is designed for great dinner parties.
The base is of cedar (surprise!) and there are 8 cedar bar stools around it.
- the livingroom (sunroom) has windows on two full sides. There's
a pull-out sofabed in there (double bed). The curtains can be pulled over to cover not only the windows
but the archway leading to the
"main" area, for night time privacy.
