The place you buy tickets is on the opposite side of the street from where vehicles drive on to the ferry.  Only opens an hour or so before the ferry sails.

If you end up having to wait for a couple hours for a ferry, you might like a drink or a meal  you can find good food right at the ferry.

If you are having someone drive you to Tambor, you might ask the driver to wait in the ferry lineup while you take a taxi to  Los Kaites bar/restaurants. 

**  Please note - like anywhere else in CR, leaving an unattended vehicle loaded with luggage and stuff is not a good way to start (or finish) a holiday!!  Another good reason to let someone else drive you: all the tourists get to go and have fun!!

And don't ask me for directions!  They are somewhere in the backstreets, out of the way of most of the pesky tourists!

The twins (one is Kaites Negros - "Black Sandals" and Kaites Blancos - "White Sandals" - are about 5 minutes' ride from the ferry landing.  They sit side by side and both offer great seafood.

The motorcyclists are NOT Hell's Angels by the way - they are a bunch of people from all over Costa Rica who have Harleys and were cruisin' on a Sunday afternoon
